Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)The secret weapon against Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)Studies show the ‘inner gel’ of the Aloe Vera plant could be the key to relieving Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), which affects an estimated 35 million Americans and 800,000 New Zealanders.
What is IBS?
IBS is the most common disorder of the bowel, causing more than half the patients referred to gastroenterologists. Symptoms range from bloating, indigestion, lower back pain, exhaustion and constipation to extreme abdominal pain, diarrhea and excessive wind. The cause of Irritable Bowel Syndrome is not fully understood, but medically, it is thought to be a disturbance of the normal muscle function of the large intestine. It is known that women sufferers outnumber men by three to one and in New Zealand, at any one time, 1 out of every 5 people is suspected of suffering from IBS. Orthodox treatments can sometimes suppress symptoms, but are not a long-term solution.
Medicine’s best-kept secret?
Help has come from an unexpected place – inside the Aloe Vera plant! (The soothing nutrient-rich gel inside the Aloe Vera leaves). Sufferers are now claiming great relief from taking a daily dose of the ‘inner gel’ juice extract of the Aloe Vera plant with converts believing it is medicine’s best-kept secret. Carol from Western Australia comments “I purchased some Aloe Vera juice for my irritable bowel syndrome with a bit of scepticism as I had tried many things with little success. After the first week I noticed a big improvement, 6 weeks have now passed and I am pain free with no bloating or discomfort what so ever”.
Studies find Aloe Vera soothes and cleans the internal system
Research has shown people who have suffered from indigestion, irritable bowel syndrome, colitis, and excess acid stomach have reported relief from these conditions by the oral taking of Aloe Vera juice (1). Improvements while taking Aloe Vera included reduced bloating after meals and reduced flatulence. Studies concluded that Aloe Vera juice promoted a more favourable balance of gastrointestinal bacteria, decreased yeast populations and had the natural facility to break down and loosen impacted material in the bowel, thus helping in detoxifying the colon. No harmful or irritant effects on the bowel were found (2). A study of 12 peptic ulcer patients reported very positive results from treatment with Aloe (3).
Extremely good news for bloated stomach sufferers!
Inner Gel Aloe Vera – gentle and powerful!
An analysis of good quality ‘pure inner gel’ Aloe Vera juice shows it contains amino acids, enzymes, vitamins and minerals. It also has rare, natural agents such as ‘saponins’, which have antiseptic properties. *PLEASE NOTE: Only ‘Inner Gel’ Aloe Vera Juice is recommended for IBS sufferers, as ‘Whole Leaf’ Aloe Vera can be a very strong laxative.

I started taking 20 mls a day and within a week I noticed dramatic improvements. I no longer had diarrhea and had regained control of my bowel, which was marvelous as I could leave the house again! The pain has subsided and my general well being has improved. I would not be without it now and I recommend it to everyone. I call it my ‘wonder juice’.”
