Primer, BB Cream or Foundation, What's the difference?

Most of us need a little help when it comes to getting that flawless complexion look.  And there are plenty of products out there to help you along, but what exactly are they?  And when should you use them?

Primer – Typically a light cream that both creates a smooth base for applying make up and will make your foundation or BB cream last all day long.  This dual function means it evens out fine lines and large pores as well as extending the longevity of your foundation. So, you come home looking just as good as when you left.

Opinion is divided on how important primer is and some people have been happily making up for years without including it in their routine.

If you have oily and/or acne prone skin it is sometimes better to avoid using a primer simply because the rule of thumb for those with such skin types is to use less product rather than more.

But Oasis primer is SPF30 so it can be used instead of a moisturiser/sunscreen and means those with oily skin can use it.  With the Oasis primer one product gives you the benefits of three  - streamlining your skincare routine.

Primer really is a great option for those who want a flawless finish all day.  And if you’ve never tried it you might be surprised at the great results it can give.

BB Cream – The BB stands for ‘beauty balm’ and we think BB creams are the best of both worlds.  They hydrate and nourish the skin whilst also providing natural looking coverage for any imperfections.

They can contain moisturising ingredients and some, such as the Oasis Beauty BB Creams, also contain in-built sun protection.  So they’re like a skin treatment that also gives a lovely, natural looking, flawless complexion all in one easy application.

If you do want full glamour coverage from your Oasis Beauty BB Cream then we recommend applying a couple of layers using our gorgeous vegan BB brush.

Foundation – The main aim of foundation is to give you good coverage and hide any blemishes or flaws in your complexion.
