Why use Melrose Cod Liver Oil?
Melrose Cold Liver Oil is a natural source of Vitamins A & D, used for the prevention and treatment of Vitamin A & D deficiencies and as a source of Omega 3 fatty acids. It is an excellent source of the Omega 3 long chain polyunsaturated marine fatty acids including Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) & Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA).

Vitamin A is necessary for the maintenance of overall good health. Vitamin D aids calcium absorption hence development of healthy bones and teeth. Whilst Vitamin D is naturally produced by the actions of sunlight on the skin, although housebound people (e.g. the elderly) may suffer from Vitamin D deficiency through lack of exposure to the sun. Deep ocean fish such as cod are rich economic sources of the omega 3 fatty acids. EPA is a the biochemical precursor of prostaglandins which are the intercellular messengers that regulate numerous physiological functions associated with health and well being. DHA is a major fatty acid in human brains and is vital for proper "eye-brain" function.

Warning: Taking more than 2500 IU a day during pregnancy may cause birth defects.
